GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG, 15th. July, 1912.
}
I have the honour to inform you that Dr. J. W. Hartley has resigned his appointment as Medical Officer with effect from the end of July in order to take up private practice at Amoy.
2.
I accordingly enclose in duplicate particulars of the office which will then be vacant. I desire to recommend for the appointment Dr. J. T. Smalley (K.R.C.S. England, 1907. L.R.C.P. London, 1907.) of the Fiji Medical Service if he is will- -ing to accept the transfer, as I believe he is.
Dr. Smalley is a well qualified and capable officer who would in my opinion be an acquisition to the Eedical Service of this Colony.
I have the honour to be,
Sir.
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
Amaz
